The information and documents required for applying Student Visa

APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED TO SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATION 2-4 WEEKS BEFORE THEIR FLIGHT

  1. The Original passport with a minimum validity of one (1) Year with at least three continuous blank pages

  2. Duly filled application form with signatures and photo uploaded. (On-line application form)

  3. Admission Letter stating the details of the course.

  4. Certificate/Proof of registration of the Institution and copy of payment to the institution.

  5. Personal bank statements (past 3 months) with a minimum balance of $ 6.000.000/USD 2000. COP

  6. In case, your husband/wife/children will be responsible for your expenses, please attach a notarized letter stating the same along with the copy of the birth registration or marriage certificate and bank statements of that person accomplishing the requirements in No. 5

  7. Flight ticket reservation/itinerary.

  8. Copy of International Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. People traveling to India must present their International Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate irrespective of the age (only children below 6 months are exempted). This certificate can be current or expired. Not having this requirement exposes the Applicant to be returned or quarantined in a health center. The Embassy of India will not be responsible in case some person is detained by the Migratory Authorities due to lack of Yellow Fever Vaccination certificate. No letters from Doctors/organizations recommending for such exemptions are not entertained.

  10. Original bank deposit slip.

  11. All visa applications must be accompanied by travel insurance for the period of time that person is visiting India.

  12. For studies in Medicine or any Medical field, the authorization of the Indian Medical Council for teaching that class is a must.

If applying for Internship

May please note the following points for applying

  • Internship can be with Indian companies / Educational institution /NGOs (Including AIESEC interns)
  • The Intern Visa will be granted immediately after completion of graduation/post graduation but the gap between the completion of graduation / post graduation and the commencement of the internship should not be more than 2 years. Applicable within 2 years of completion of graduation / post-graduation for internship with Indian companies, educational institutions & NGOs
  • Period of Internship: Maximum one year
  • Intern Visa not be applicable for the following sectors: Defence, Telecom, Space, Technologies, Construction/strategic infrastructure projects, mining, Civil Aviation, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Exploration, Private Security agencies, Human Rights, Nuclear energy, Environmental issues and Dams.
  • Registration under FRRO is mandatory within 14 days of arrival in India if applicant is staying for more than 180 days.
  • Under no circumstances, the foreign national will be allowed to take up employment in India immediately after completion of the internship programme. Conversion of the Intern visa into Employment Visa or any other type of Visa will not be permited. In case the foreign national receives any offer for employment in India, he/she will have to go back to the country of his/her domicile and apply for Employment Visa at the Indian Mission/post concerned.

Documents required for applying Student visa under Internship as given as below

  1. The passport with a minimum validity of one (1) Year with at least three continuous blank pages

  2. Duly filled application form with signatures and photo uploaded. White background photo uploaded into the system. White background photo 5x5cm pasted to the form. It has to be signed on both pages (in the 2 spaces required) (On-line application form)

  3. Invitation letter of internship from Indian companies, educational institutions & NGOs with the period of internship specified. This letter also issued by Indian company / educational institutions / NGO concerned sponsoring the foreign national for the internship programme clearly indicating the period of the internship, stipend/entititlements/remuneration, and responsibilities or obligations of intern. There will be no minimum salary limit in the case of internship in educational institutions and NGOs. Letter issued from Indian companies, educational institutions & NGOs, should also mention that they will ensure departure of the foreigner in completion of the internship. The foreign national have to exit before the expiry of the Visa. An undertaking should be provided from the company / organization concerned that they will ensure departure of the foreigner on completion of the internship.

  4. AIESEC: AIESEC sponsorship letter (Stamp and signature in original from AIESEC)AIESEC Students’s Acceptance Note from Colombia/Ecuador (with signatures and stamps as applicable)
  5. Notarized copy of graduate / post graduate certificate diploma

  6. Personal bank statements of the past three months with a minimum balance of $ 6,000,000 COP. In case, your spouse/parents will be responsible for your expenses, please attach a notarize letter stating responsibility for trip expenses along with the copy of the birth registration or marriage certificate. 

  7. Flight ticket reservation/itinerary.

  8.
