ICCR SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2023-2024

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Embassy of India in Colombia are pleased to announce the new call for applying for the Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme (previously known as General Scholarship Scheme) and the Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme (previously known as Scholarship Scheme for Indian Culture), for the academic year 2023 - 2024. We invite all the interested international students to apply through the (ICCR A2A Portal), which will be operational from the 12th April 2023.
The ICCR scholarship program includes: Round trip airfare, tuition, accommodation, thesis expenses, medical benefits (depending on the scholarship scheme), free visa.
Requirements:
- Colombian or Ecuadorian citizen.
- Good level of English (minimum level - B2).
- Comply with the requirements of the course and institute (these must be verified directly on the ICCR Portal).
- Medical certificate verifying that you are in good health to travel and take the course.
- Certificate of studies, diplomas and grades

GENERAL GUIDELINES
- For this year applications should be sent directly to the institutes/universities through the ICCR A2A Portal.
- The list of universities and institutes can be consulted in the ICCR portal: http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/
- Candidates are encouraged to visit the websites of the institutions to verify requirements and course offerings before applying.
- Applicants may apply to 5 universities of their choice.
- Submit a 500-word essay in English and attach standardized test scores such as TOEFL or IELTS.
- Candidates must be 18 years old at the time of application and must not be over 30 years old (for Undergraduate / Postgraduate Courses) and must not be over 45 years old (for PhD programmes)
Apart from the General Guidelines (Annexure A and Annexure B) established by ICCR, please take into account the following:
1. These scholarship slots include return economy class air-fares to the nearest airport and 3rd AC Train fare to the place of study, if required. The Embassy will book one way economy class ticket (from the country of origin to India).
2. Students may obtain the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalence (if required). In case AIU equivalence is required the student may apply for the same at: Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and bear the fees incurred on obtaining the certificate at own expense (non-reimbursable). 3. HEALTH INSURANCE UPDATE: All interested candidates in taking part on the ICCR Scholarship Scheme for 2023-2024, may please notice the following change in regard of medical insurance requirement for this Academic Year:
- All students must acquire a medical insurance before departing to India for attending their courses (issuance of visa depends on proof of purchase of a medical insurance). This information is available on the ICCR scholarship A2A Portal.
- ICCR is introducing mandatory medical insurance to be taken by the students at their own cost. The medical coverage to be insured should be at least ₹5,00,000, per annum or equivalent in foreign currency if taken ovearseas. In this sense, ICCR would like to share the information from two insurance companies:
Candidates may notice that the above premium rates are only indicative. Students are free to obtain insurance company in India of their choice or, those who arrive from their country, can bring international insurance valid in India. It is mandatory for students to be with valid medical insurance for availing of ICCR's scholarship.
